body shape reminds me of either a coachwhip or a racer.. either way it's a baby so it will lose the pattern as it gets older.

Completely harmless. I'm only 95% sure it's a coachwhip, but I'm 100% sure it's not venomous.

That is a young-of-the-year Northern Black Racer, Coluber constrictor constrictor. There are no Coachwhips in eastern Tennessee.
Whereabouts in East TN are you?
