Pearl Headed Bull

Jeremy Pierce Aug 09, 2006 11:50 AM

I hatched out this bull from my whiteside x red project. He is from my wc red x trumbower line. His body is completely normal with some red/orange showing, but his head is a strange purple/gray color with orange flecks. When he hatched out I thought that it might go away after shedding however after his first shed it got better! Pretty neat! Take care!

Very cool, almost the kind of shading you see on whitesides or bloodred corns as hatchlings.

Thats kind of what I thought. This clutch was exceptional and I can't wait till next year. I am definately going to do the same pairing and hope another "pearl" comes out. I don't know exactly what or why it is, but I like it and can't wait to see what it does with time. Take care and thank you!

To me they these already look hypo. It could just be that they are EXTREMELY clean babies. It doesn't really matter to me too much if they are hypo or not, they are super nice regardless. I'm definately anxious to see how your and Greggs project will turn out though. Time will tell if the green will translate into an amelanistic specimen or not. I'm fairly confident that it will happen. I've attached a close up of one of the Maricopa males. Lots of green and red, very little black. Take care!
