In a post below you asked about field guides that would show the brooksi range from when it was considered a full subspecies.

What you need is the First Edition of Roger Conant's Petersons Field Guide. This is a classic reference, and also includes the Blotched Kingsnake (goini) and the Coastal Plains Milksnake. It is interesting to compare the size records to the 2nd and 3rd editions. I recomend this book highly.
