Frank, do you use any kind of heat on those outdoor cages or do you let them just use the sun? what are those cages?

if you dont use any kind of heat or light on those outdoor cages do you see them out at night other then nesting females?

the gilleni was bred to a caudolineatus, correct?

Hi Marshall, No sir, no heat, its very very hot here, so heat is not a problem. Wait, to much heat is a problem. We have to do many things to make sure it does not get too hot.

And the cages are ones we made years ago, and actually sold at reptile shows.

And no, these are not crosses. If they were, I would call them crosses. Or my funny little name, caudolenis. hahahahahahahaha.

I believe I posted losing the caudo female.(can't remember if on KS or our forum) I know I did on ours. So now I do not have any caudos what so ever. So no more first generation crosses will be coming from me.(still have three clutches of eggs) But, some of the caudolenis are getting near mature. So, second generation caudolenis may occur. So for me, the name gilleni will no longer be used in connection with caudos or caudolenis. Thanks for staying on subject. Cheers

on a side note, what kind of snakes do you keep at the ranch? hahahahaha, just kidding.

do you have any pictures of the caudolenis's?

Hi Frank,
I'm sure that after you've dug up a clutch a female will eventually lay another clutch in the same spot the first clutch was, but have you ever left a clutch burried in one of your outdoor cages and had a female re-dig the nesting hole and lay more clutches in the same chamber with the older clutch of eggs?

Hi Jon, First, I did not say, she laid her eggs in the same place. I said, she started her nesting burrow under the water bowl, which is the same place. The eggs themselves were not laid in the same place. They dig until they find the proper temps and such. Which varies as the weather changes.(for outside cages)

Also, I would not assume they would nest in the same place. That has not been my experience at all. Cheers
