found this collared

i found this collared on a field herping trip to the mojave desert earlier this summer. would you say it's an adult or older juvenile?

i didnt keep him i just thought he was cool. i think a collared might be my next herp.

He's kinda small, but hard to tell from the pic, I'd say a Juvi.

KONG, He's a hefty handful though, and 16 inches long. Sometimes adult females look like babys next to him.

16 inches?!?! I think Kong was an appropraite name! Pretty cool! Is he just abnormally large or is that how large most males get of his kind?

A JUMBO boy, LOL not all get that big no, but they do find some large ones occasionally. He was older when caught, some battle scars, but just awesome.

He's my boy gets alot of special privledges , runs free.

I have a question - why do they caught them from the wild, why not just get captive breed lizards?

My collared is a Mohave Dessert Collared and he looks more like a juvinal than an full grown adult, but it's hard to get a handle on his size from the photograph. Sage (my lizard) is a little over a food from snout to the tip of his tail.

i'd say he was about 8 inches. i didnt pay much attention to him after i found this monster chuck though. haha.

It's hard to say, but I think it may be an adult male because he has the long, pointed head already.
