in as far as quarantine but I have to ask, I recieved a male cinnamon and 2 hatchlings about 2 mos ago, they have been in my sons room for the 2 mos while hes been in NY well he has to come home about a month early and that would have been my 3 months quarantine (had he stayed) but he will be home tonight or tomorrow, would it be ok for me to put the newbies in my collection 1 month early, the one baby had a small RI when i first got her but that is well done and gone (she loooks AWESOME) ))) the other 2 showed NO signs of sickness at all, no mites, no ticks, no regurging, no cough due cold, nothin, and all 3 eat great. I quarantine 3 mos for fear of IBD but because it kills so rapidly in babies if there was an IBD problem I would have seen it already especially in the hatchlings right?? especially if they were shipped together, both hatchlings are thriving and my cinnamon is doing awesome ANY OPINIONS

Advice is what we ask when we already know the answer, but wish we didn't.....

This is kind of a coin toss (in my opinion). I assume you have a fair amount of experience with your collection and by now you know what to look for as far as what is normal, healthy behavior and what is a possible sign of parasites, infections, etc.

But...status quo says three months....

You really didn't tell us why they can't stay in your son's room for another four weeks...is he too young? scared? not enough room for both him and the snakes?

Do you have another area in the house that would be suitable for the remaining quarantine period?

If the only option you have is too bring them into the same room/space as the rest of your collection...then this is what I would do...

Hopefully, you have a herp vet you know and trust. Bring all three snakes for complete physicals...you may need to bring fecal samples in. If the vet comes back with an "all clear"...then go ahead and move them.

My vet charges me per visit not per animal since my animals are small and quickly and easily checked out. Unlike multiple dogs or cats where stress can cause "behaviors". Each snake is transported in it's own tub and the vet washes between each examination.

Instead of paying $50-$70 per animal I pay a flat rate for the exam and any tests or medications are tacked on as needed. If you talk with your vet ahead of time you may be able to work out a similar deal. Think about it this way: $200 (possible) to check out everyone or risk the whole investment and possibly the rest of your animals...which is the greater sacrifice?

I have experience with ball pythons, my kids mother doesnt want them in her room, and because its been brutally hot by me, my AC is set at 75 which i dont want to keep hatchlings at. My son is 4 and plays in his room constantly, and the cinny will only eat live so me being somewhat anal I dont want to feed live rats in the room he sleeps in just for health purposes if they ate F/T it would be different, possibly,. I have always quarantined for 3 mos but im a little lost on this situation. I house my animals seperatly and I use gloves,germ-x and chlorhexadine when dealing with ANYTHING not added to my established collection and animals that are already there.

I apologize if I sounded like I was questioning your experience or diligence in keeping your collection safe and healthy...really didn't mean to at all.

If the vet idea doesn't work for you...do have a friend who you trust that would be willing to house them? Granted, I'm not sure what this would mean to you as far as the quarantine period goes...but if you trust that they have a clean space where the animal would not pick up anything "new" you should still be able to observe for anything they are currently harboring, which, in effect, is the point of the quarantine to begin with.

Otherwise, I really don't have any other suggestions for you at this time. Sorry.

I'm surprised no one else has offered any suggestions. Surely someone else has been in this type of situation before.
