My first Thayeri

guttersnacks Aug 11, 2006 01:17 PM

Im finally a card carrying member of the Thayeri group. This little male I got is offspring from Chris Jones' stock. Its a result of an amel female, with a het male, so this little guy is definitely carrying the amel gene. He's a bit small for my comfort zone, but he's a good eater, twice un-assisted so far, so Im not too worried.
Judging by the grey on the saddles, Im sure he'll darken as he gets older, but still, Im excited about his colors and SO IS MY WIFE!! That helps right?
Enjoy...

Beautiful snake you have there! I'd sure like to see what he looks like when he grows up. As for your Beetlejuice comment... that's exactly the reason I named one of my California Kingsnake that name. Looks just like the snake in the movie!

.....before everyone draws their weapons....

Tom knows this snake was ruthveni four generations ago and they all stay separated in my collection.

Thanks,

Chris

Saved a lot of trouble, you did!

guttersnacks Aug 12, 2006 12:29 PM

then people would have thought "Chris gave that guy a snake, and he probably doesnt know its got Ruthvens in it"
Is that what the big stink would have been?

Why not give the benefit of the doubt first, and assume that I already knew it had amel Ruthveni in it from down the line?

No one posted anything. So no reason to get on the defensive, either of you. I think everyone here knows that Chris Jones breeds hybrids so no one assumed anything different. But you might have gotten more responds on the hybrid forum if thats what you wanted.

Chris wasnt the only one who thought it might bring trouble. Obviously Mike seemed to think so too.

I was just trying to share my excitement. I wont bother ya'll again. Seems like everytime I post something in here, I get a little tap on my back and politely get shown the door or feel like I have to grab a soap box.

I'll just go back to lurking and shut up.

(stir up trouble) but it sound's like you and Chris wanted it to?!?!?!?!

I'd guess most of us here are glad you are excited. No reason to so away mad. No one has shown you the door or told you to shut up or stop lurking here. I don't think you have bothered anyone either. Why so defensive Tom...........Chris J.???????

Vichris Variables

Mike Meade Aug 13, 2006 07:26 PM

I *started* my message with a , which is the universal symbol of "don't take this seriously".

All of the regulars here knew what that snake was as soon as it was posted. Yet nobody took the bait. When Chris properly ID'd it I thanked him, because he cleared the air for any lurkers or newbies that might want an "amel thayeri".

I would apologize, but I'm just too big of a jerk.

vichris Aug 14, 2006 10:21 PM

I'm a jerk too. Usually I'm refered to as a "b*astard" so this is a step in the right direction. LOL

No apologies here either
