Desert Iguanas and Creasote bushes

onthefly Aug 11, 2006 11:07 PM

I was out in Palm Desert today and for a treat I brought home some Creasote branches with lots of the fuzzy buds and leaves on it, gave it to my Desert Iguanas, they ran over to it smelled it an went to the other side of the tank, do they eat this out of servival or is it prefered, my guys wouldn't have any thing to do with the stuff.

I've heard the same about chucks and creosote. It seems to be the food of last resort. Maybe the succulent gourmet salads we prepare for them, spoil their appetite for those dry desert plants laden with noxious chemicals ;0)
