I have been asked to give talks on rattlesnake conservation and the negatives of the roundups at the Gene Autry Birthday Celebration in Plano in October. While I could probably do it alone it would be much better with 3 or 4 people per day.
It is a 2 day festivity. A booth with electricity will be provided, as will a place to keep any animals when the booth is unmanned.
The number of people attending is expected to be around 30,000, mostly texans but with visitors from many different countries.
If anyone from the herp societies in the area want to help, let me know soon so we can get your clubs into the publicity releases. This will NOT be a demanding task but will require sufficient knowledge of conservation and roundups to answer questions as well as an ability to speak to the masses.
Email me to let me know if you are interested.
