lobster roaches

peach749 Aug 12, 2006 08:23 PM

hello I was wondering if anyone here feeds there dragons lobsters instead of crix. I currently have 4 sub adult I will be switching over next week. I have been breeding these roaches for over a year now and I have about 4 colonies with probably more that 20,000 per. I was wondering about how many roaches should I offer each dragon. there about 12-14 inches. I was thinking 10 each along with the daily greens. any advice will help.

A friend of mine breeds dragons and give them lobsters. I think for a juvie about two or three medium sized ones.

We feed lobsters; discoids; hissers and turks to our beardies - have for years.

The sub-adults at 12-14" can pack away quite a few lobsters. If you are feeding large, pre-wing nymphs, I'd say close to 20 in a sitting. Our adults beardies can eat 20 adults and still be hungry.

I place the dragons in a tub and add the roaches (be sure roaches cannot get out of tub). Add until they stop eating. Then let them rest for a few... remove dragon and place back in their enclosure. We usually feed the greens before the roaches.

With small baby beardies, we feed the nymphs only. We sift them through appropriately sized screen mesh.

Hope that helps,
