The more I see them, the more I love them! The male I got from you is getting prettier and prettier. He is one of my favorites. Not only is he eye-candy; he never turns his nose up to a meal and is the picture of health. Maybe its just me, but I think the Sonorans show more awareness and curiosity of their surroundings....at least mine seem to more than the Colombians.

Keep up the good work making beautiful critters!

considering you have one that I used to, lol.

They are such awesome little boas and I want more! Linda, please let me know when you get some babies out of yours, I know how picky you were in selecting your Hypos, and I am sure it will pay off!

ChrisGilbert Aug 13, 2006 12:53 AM

wish I didn't sell my Hypo.

Hey Linda, any chance I can have her back? LOL

No really, I'll pay shipping and everything.

So when are the Leopards being thrown into the mix?

giantkeeper Aug 13, 2006 10:01 AM

We will attempt to breed our male Leopard to our female Hypo Sonoran this coming season. We may also attempt to breed something other than a Leopard or Leopard het to our female het Leopard. With all of the difficulties that people (including us) are having with the breedings we are going to go ahead and skip out on visual Leopards and create hets and dbl hets...etc.

It sounds good on paper..hope it's the right chjoice...lol

I don't think you will have the problems with Het X het as you do breeding Leopards. I don't know why, but so many people are having trouble with Leopards breeding, even if it isn't Leo X leo. I hope things change, because my Leopard has a gorgeous Gee Hypo and a black-eyed 66% het waiting for him!

I hoping to do something similar with this girl. I think she might be a hypo but I'm not too sure. She's ready to breed now. She's a little over 5', maybe by an inch or 2.

Color wise that really looks like a Hog Island. Ernie Eison

First I'd like to say that is a gourgous super hypo sonoran.

I have been saying that hypo sonorans and hogs look to be the same morph but different localitys. Watching hypo hogs and sunsets develop and with different breeding trials, seems to back this. My thought is a true "sunset" boa is a double super.

Here is a hog island boa compare it to the super hypo sonoran. Just look at the body color, saddle color, and tail color.

Seems like a no brainer to me....LOL...
Where one type of morph pops up it seems other will show at some point because it is the same genetic mutation just happening at different times and places. Once a boa has these mutated genes they can only pass their own genes to their offspring..

Lets look at some more examples
J Stones motleys
Roylance motleys
Cental american motleys
Argentine motleys

Salmon hypos
Gee line hypos
hypo nics
hypo panamanians
Sabogae island boas (also an island locality boa that has been changes via a dominant morph type)

Albino colombians
albino Surinames

Anerys have come from most localities
central america
colombia
peru

T albino colombians
T central americans

I would bet a pure locality specific type of most morphs will be found at some point over a long enough time span, and with some luck..
