Brookesia Genus

spike00 Aug 03, 2003 11:18 PM

I am currently in the process of doing a huge amount of research into this Genus and the species and sub-species' that exist, classification and so on - rather than bore everyone with the complete details and what I hope to achieve I was hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on the naturalist who originally discovered them.

Please no answers saying Mr, Dr or Prof Brookes - if you do however have any detail on classification dates and more specifically and details regarding the discoverer I will be happy to credit you throughout my text.

Many thanks

You may very well have come across this article in your research, but if not here it is. The author, Chad Smith, includes a Brookesia Identification Key within the article which has several linked photos for i.d. as well - this may be of some help to you. Again, I am sure you have seen the profiles on AdCham.com www.adcham.com/html/taxonomy/species-taxonomy.html#Brookesia - and there are links to members. Hope this helps out a bit.
