Cool vs Heat cage question....

fhuici Aug 13, 2006 03:16 PM

Are there any cages out there that seem to be cooler then others? I’m not sure if there is such a thing but I’d thought I’d ask. The temperature in Miami is pretty high year around and most of the cages out there just talk about how well they maintain heat. I currently use visions but I’m growing my collection of snakes so I’ll be in the market for some cages also. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

PS. My snakes are in my garage which faces east. It gets pretty hot in there. Usually it's anywhere between 85 to 95 degrees in there (even at night)...

Thanks!

Can you bring the snakes in the house where you can control the temps? Andy

An air conditioner is probably the most important thing in a reptile room. It is the basis for good temperature control. Not to mention room A/C's at Walmart are cheaper than most snakes. Even here in Ohio I use one all sumer in my snake room.

Fun fact: The record high in Cleveland OH is hotter than the record high in Miami FL. Believe it or not.
