Hot Weather shipping

survey33 Aug 13, 2006 04:33 PM

Anybody shipping via FEDEX in this hot weather? I've been very successful shipping in past years but this 100-105 temperatures have me definitly thinking twice.

I ship using 3/4 inch styro lined boxes with cold packs. Sending the package off at 6:00 p.m. right before they close for delivery by 10:30 a.m. Just curious to see if other have successfully shipped in this weather.

I had a problem with a rosy boa a few weeks ago when it was really hot. I thought a desert snake would be ok, but in 10 years of shipping this was the first doa I've had. I shipped 6 snakes to New York last night and am anxiously tracking them right now. The nights are pretty cool almost everywhere so I didn't use a cool pack. I waited until just before the last pick up before taping the box shut. I punched more holes then usual in the box, even the top of the box. Good luck!
