Scale Damage - Please Advise

omnifelpur Aug 13, 2006 06:44 PM

First off, I've already made an appointment with the local exotics vet first thing tomorrow. I'm just looking for some peice of mind that I'm not the only person who's been through this before and that it's not THAT serious =(

My burm has about 4 spots on his back where the scales have turned brown and are even damaged like he's rubed them almost raw on something. There isn't anything in the enclosure that he could rub up on though, and he is still healthy and eatting every feeding day. I'm working hard to keep the humidity at good levels so I can't figure out why this is happening. I mentioned this before and some said it wasn't uncommon for that sort of thing to happen and just wait till he sheds to see if it clears up, but then today the scale damage looked worse, like it was actual damage and not just scale discoloration. I've got a few pics, has anyone been through this before or have any idea if it's maybe some sort of infection maybe? Thanks!

Nevermind, guess it was some minor burn marks from a waterproof heating wire.
