Hey Meret:
After seeing that beauty of a short tail of yours, I was keen on the short tail series (the trio of Blood, Borneo short-tail, and the Sumatran short-tail). I saw lots of baby hatchling bloods. Let me tell you: the thought did cross my mind . . . "Gee, I wonder if I shouldn't just buy one and start to love it." This was especially true after you said that husbandry is not really that hard as long as I have temp and constant humidity in the right range. Also, there is a great article on bloods/short-tails by pro-exotics. I read that article.
But hey. Lots of thoughts cross my mind when I am @ one of these great hot shows. For example: Hmmmm that $45 baby gaboon looks nice and manageable. Hey, that $100 Cerastes cerastes sure has cute horns!. Wow, that Crotalus cerastes sidewinder is not that expensive!
So, as you can see: lots of thoughts come and it is all I can do to discipline myself and filter out those thoughts and jsut enjoy the company of these great snakes.
Shows are sure fun. And so far, I have always planned out what I was going to buy and have stuck to it. For example, this time, before I went, I knew I was getting few pigmies and lots of BP's. I came home with no more and no less than exactly what I had planned. Pretty Good, no? I Just think impulse buying hots is a big No. No.!
cheers! No point to the post. Just thought I'd share my thoughts, since you were kind enough to share your pic of your short tail.
