arpeet1 Aug 04, 2003 12:12 AM

I was checking my temps in the incubatir tonight and the little thermometer I leve in there says 80 on my on my female incubator and 88 on my male one. But when I use my Thermometer I got at radioshack that you just point in there and shoot it is reading 77 on my female one and 84 on my male one so which one do I go by? Also am I to mesure the temp in the incubator next to the dishes containg the eggs or in the dish containing the eggs?
Please help

that you leave in the incubator, is it the one that came with it or a digital? Temp guns can be off by a few degrees, and you should be checking the actual temps of the eggs, not the surrounding area of the egg box.

Amy,

Just something to look into. If you have one of those point and click thermometers, most of those actually read the surface temp of whatever you are pointing at. The air temp may be different.
