It seems that our Wes hasn't grown since we got him! He's so little and he doesn't even register on the scale. He is at least two months old now. So I've put him in a seperate enclosure and am trying to give him lots of extra attention. Can anybody tell me about how much he should weigh? Also, how can I fatten him up? He's not inactive or anything, he's just so small. He seems perfectly healthy otherwise.
Thanks!

What are you feeding him, how much, and how often?

I found that when my crested was really little, she didn't go for fruit much, but was just ravenous with regard to consuming crickets (she ate like 5/night), and grew like a weed. I imagine that when they're little, their protein and calcium needs are probably higher than an adult's, because now that she's mostly grown up, she's much more interested in fruit and/or crested gecko diet than she ever was as a baby, and much less aggressive about attacking crickets, to the point that we've now slowed down how many crickets she gets.

He won't eat anything! I think he may be anorexic or something. He will binge on crickets once in a while and have like 15. Otherwise nothing. Last night, in his new enclosure, I did get him to eat some baby food with cgd in it. Maybe he just doesn't like crickets?

Cresteds, from my experience with mine and what I've read here, seem to have pretty wildly variant food preferences - for a while mine ate nothing but crickets, now seems to be switching to cgd/fruit, and I've heard of some that eat nothing but cgd and/or fruit before, so it may be that. However, if it seems like he's not eating anything, you may be best off to get him checked by a vet - zero appetite in a little guy that should be feeding like crazy to fuel growth is probably not a good sign. If it were me, I'd rather get him checked out only to find out nothing's wrong than not check and have the little guy have a serious problem that could have been easily taken care of if it was caught earlier.

Another question, though, is related to the crickets - what size are they relative to his head? Pooh-Bear seemed to grow relatively slowly at first, and then once she was big enough to eat medium sized crickets, she just grew like crazy. Do you know what Wesley was being fed by the pet store/breeder you got him from? If it was fruit/baby food, you might try mixing cgd with some organic baby food to transition him over to that.

We actually rescued him from the pet store - they had him in an awful enclosure and he was so small! After we brought him home he was growing fine and seemed healthy. But now he's just stopped growing. The last couple nights I've put baby food and cgd in there with him and he eats it heartily! I'm thinking that he just isn't interested in the crickets. We get him little tiny ones (no bigger then the space between his eyeballs) but he just doesn't go after them. I'll see if my vet can check him out! Thanks for your help!

as long as he is eating cgd or babyfood there is nothing wrong with not eating crickets. you might try some other insects perhaps... like small flies or something.
but dont bring him to the vet or relocate him too often as long as he is eating and looking healthy.... this might stress the gecko out so he stops eating again..
