Diamond In The Rough

fgs Aug 14, 2006 11:55 AM

This egg looked doomed from the start. It was layed with three other eggs on June 16th. The other eggs looked great until about two weeks ago when they all went bad at the same time. I figured this one would be next but it just stayed as ugly as it was the day it was layed.

I came into my snake den about 6:00 this morning and was surprised to see the slit. I manually slit the egg to find a nice looking pastel inside.

I remember hearing a few years ago from one of our legend breeders. If it doesn't stink leave it alone.

Thanks for looking at my diamond in the rough.

Good work Brian!
I was in a similar situation this year with
several 'tear drop' eggs that I was doubtful as
to their viability. A few slit just the other
day (...and have been housing pastels).

Remind me to tell you about my trick for saving
eggs that are starting to go bad....
