Hello, I'm a current owner of a two cornsnakes and I am now interrested in purchasing a Boa. I honestly don't know anything about them but, I will be doing my research soon before i get one. Well enough of me ranting....

What Kind of Boa Should I Get??????????
- I love snakes but I certainly don't want a snake that will get any longer than 4ft. What Kind of Boas should I be looking at???

A couple of choices, look into the island species like corn or hoggs.

Or maybe even a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, needs a little more attention to details of care but they are beautiful snakes.

Get something your going to be commited to careing for,for the next 15-20 YEARS.
Hog Island BCI are fairly cheap now-days($200 or less)with males commonly staying around 5'.
Stay clear of the pet shop offerings!!There are plenty of reputable breeders out here selling quality stock free of the headaches often delt with "AFTER" purchaseing from exotics dealers on a local basis.
Just do your homework !(reference checks etc)

I don't know... I know I dont like the Rosy, Rubber, or Sand boas don't really like the round worm looking like snakes. I like the redtail and tree boas but ummm i think they get to big. The largest I want a snake to get is probably 5ft max the smaller the better.

most boa constrictors get bigger than 4' which is what I think you said at first. You might find a 5' boa. You will have to get an adult to be sure. Otherwise even a small type of boa might still exceed that 5' length.

I have a suggestion too. The dwarf breeds like hoggs and tarahumara etc have been mentioned, but if you want a really upscale boa get a leopard! They stay small by boa standards, and they are beautiful. Not impossibly pricey either.
