Hilton in Daytona....

LoraineS Aug 14, 2006 08:56 PM

It really ticks me off that the Hilton won't allow any animals this coming weekend. They're making a good buck with this event. Just glad we're booked into a hotel that doesn't mind our critters. I'd recommend that, if you're going to be at the Hilton, you don't eat there, tip there or, most of all, go back there next year! Just my take on this issue....

That does suck but if you do happen to eat there, don't take it out on the employees by not tipping. It's not their fault....

they would complain to management if they were told the reason tips were held. It is a fine line. I'm just sorry I am going to miss Daytona this year, it is such a great show.

Having worked in the industry and in a Hotel myself, some restaurant's are separate from Hotel management and you have no control of hotel management's poor decisions. I just don't think it's the right way to protest. Waiters/bartenders make a living off tips and pay taxes on the amount they sell. There is a right and wrong way to prtoest and the right way would be to just not eat there or let the waiters know why you are eating there......more than likely there are plenty of other places to eat . Usually hotel drinks and food is overpriced anyway!

Too bad you aren't going Chris! I hope they figured the housing out for people bringing reptiles......it really is a porr decision on management. More than likely they allow dogs which alot of folks are allergic to but they won't allow, harmless secure reptiles???
