sunglows

I have just bought my first geckos about 6 weeks ago from the petstore in which I purchased 2 White Line Geckos and they actually just laid a pair of eggs a couple weeks ago. So the challenge now is to have these eggs hatch. Being a new gecko owner I would appreciate some posts as how to make sure these eggs hatch because right now i have them in a humid area and I sprayed them but they began to have fungus so I have decided to stop spraying them. I am not sure if they will still survive but there will be hopefully more to come. Back to a different question though I have seen some sun glow leopard geckos and I have become real interested in buying a pair to breed. Any ideas of a site where I could get them for cheap or at a reasonable price because everywhere I have seen online the asking price is about 200 for just one sun glow leopard gecko. Do sun glow geckos usually cost this much? Thanks

I dont know anything about other gecko species, so I cant help you with the first part but I do know about sunglows.

Sunglows are super hypo tangerine carrottail albinos. Most breeders are trying to produce them with no pattern at all, just a bright orange body color with a much carroting on the tail as possible. The reason they cost so much is because the morph is composed of so many polygenetic traits which had to be outbred in order to include the albino gene. That outbreeding caused the morph to be more variable until it is linebred back to what the breeders want it to look like. So the best looking sunglows will cost the most because they are the most like what breeders are aiming for at this moment. $200 really isnt that bad. Id get more than a pair though if your trying to breed them though...

Hi,

Like the other person who posted, I don't know about your other geckos, but I do know about sunglows. Garrick with crestedgecko.com has these guys from $150. I hope this isn't considered advertising! Oops!

Before you breed your new pair you should read more about Leopard Geckos. Breeding isnt easy. You should consider every single aspect of it. Like how to mate them, carying for the eggs. And finally how to take care of the hacthlings. Please read some more before you try breeding them again.
