Air Freshener?

BurmMania Aug 15, 2006 03:29 AM

I am just curious what people use in their snake rooms for an air freshener/deodorizer/air purifier?

clean substrate works the best.

I don't use any air freshener.

You can use lots of stuff oust, and the normal air freshener. I like to use those air fans and this other little tubular triangle thing with gel inside but its all your personal prefference. What ever is safe for us to breathe is also safe to them.

"What ever is safe for us to breathe is also safe to them."

Not true...we can breathe cedar fumes with no problems. But it is DEADLY to snakes, an who knows what other chemical is ok for us but not for them.

I find that using a substrate such as newspaper or paper towels, and cleaning any messes as soon as they happen keep my room odor free.

When I used aspen bedding i always had a residual smell even after cleaning. I switched to the paper because no matter how big an area you scoop there is still a wicking action that allows some of the bedding to look dry and clean even when its not.

Clean substrate is the best remedy. I use an Ionic breeze from sharper image in my snake room, and it works amazingly. Those things are pretty incredible, i have 6 full rack systems not including my boas and the Ionic breeze kills any and all smell in the room. I would recommend them to anyone.
