where/when to get chucks

mlove Aug 15, 2006 07:52 AM

Hi, I'm still hoping to find a cb chuck available for purchase soon. Can anyone let me know what time of the month chucks usually lay their eggs and what the incubating time is? At what age after hatching should I buy them? Also I want to be able to handle my chuck and I'm not sure temperment wise what the best species would be. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Eggs are in incubators now. Check the Classifieds for the next few months and there should be babies available. Hispidus seem to be the tamest although it varies by individual and I think any captive bred if held often can become tame.

Thanks for the info! It's great being able to get advice from people with chuck experience.
