About my other post.......

TobyEKing Aug 15, 2006 12:38 PM

On the advice of another forum member; and with the aid of my "iron gut" wife. We pureed 4 fuzzies added cuttlebone, and a little gatorade(for hydration), with a huge dash of hope, and a 4 inch piece of tubing, force fed about half of our concoction.

Concoction was the consistency of loose paste, the paste contained the semi-solid matter of the fuzzies.

Only inserting the tube about 2 inches into the snakes throat, we began to slowly administer the concoction, once the syringe was empty, we removed the tubing slowly and gave the snake time to push it down or spit it back up....The good news is, she did not spit it back up. She proceeded to put a kink in her body and push it down, so we gave her a few more minutes, and gave her a second tube...which she did not spit up either.

It has been about 20 minutes, and she is still holding it down..keep your fingers crossed for me..and for her.

I am glad to hear she held the meals.. But at the end of the day the lesson to be learned here is not to buy animals that do not appear to be 100% healthy..

keep us posted on your progress and good luck with her!

hey toby i know you said you don't wanna post pics, but think of how well it would illustrate a positive progress timeline/before and after pic set.you probably did this already but i would get documentation of her current weight, and at least take some pics of her now to post later to compare to her when she improves(fingers crossed).

I'm glad you mentioned it cause I haven't even thought about photos yet. I'll have to make sure that I get some of her in a day or two,not wanting to disturb her for now and see if she keeps down the concoction we fed her earlier today. Again thanks for the reminder!!
