Does my pacman look healthy?

tallgeese84 Aug 15, 2006 04:29 PM

First off, Im sorry for the crappy quality of the pictures, I took them on my phone.

He has not eaten anything in about 3 weeks. WHen I fed him then, it was 3 large mealworms. He then buried himself and recently just came out yesterday. I tried to feed him a pinky today, which I do about every 6 weeks, but he came scared of it and started running away from it.

I am also putting up a pic of his enclosure, to see if someone else can notice if Im doing something wrong. Im using a UTH on the side, and its about 78 F in there. I mist once a day. I open the lid and let it air out a bit every 3 days. I spot clean any dead crix or poo.

THanks for the help,

John

one comment on your setup, you should either completely remove the lid from your tank (the frog won't get out) and replace it with a screen or at least leave the front lip that opens open to let air circulate constantly. air circulation is very important for the health of all animals as well as plants.

Thanks for the advice, I shall try this and see how it goes.

78 is too cold for a small guy like this- you need to bump him up to 82 at least, 86 would be better. What is the substrate? I didn't see a water dish- how often are you changing the substrate? If there is no water dish, the frog will get all of his moisture from the substrate, which, if not clean, might make him ill. Are you giving calcium supplements or UV light? If you get a better picture of him that would be great.

The brown thing on the right side is the waterdish. I put some gravel in it cause it would be too deep otherwise. I use calcium supplements and dont use a light on the tank.

Ugh, forgot to say I change the substrate once every 4-6 weeks.
