no matter the size tank, anything will do, for babies i just use mixing bowls, the hard plastic type and cut out a hole, they outgrow things so quickly.

i wouldnt put a larger dragon in with a smaller dragon even with a hide, like joel said, the larger one might have the baby as snack, dont risk it.

If you are talking about two separate tanks then put a divider (a piece of cardboard or something) between the two so they don't see each other. Your hatchling will stress out if he sees a bigger one close by.

If you are talking about the same tank,, I wouldn't do it. My wife just learned the hard way. A larger juvi, jumped into a hatchling bin and had a snack. Not cute!

Hope that helps.

Your question is unclear. Are you asking if a dragon is put into a 29 gal tank would it need a hide, if the dragon is a juvenile or younger?

Or are you asking if it is alright to put a baby in with a juvenile who is already in a 29 gal tank, if it so, should you place a hide for it?

If the former is what you meant, then yes, put in a hide. A hide serves as both a safe place to sleep (if the dragon decides to use it that is) and a cool place to go should the temperatures get too not.

If the latter, do not put two different sized dragons into a tank.
