from what I was led to understand the father is 1/2 bell & 1/2 graziani so i got the best of both worlds in 1 package
Was curious when you stated that the father was 1/2 Bell line and 1/2 Graziani line, what the true story is behind the ancestry of these guys.
First off, as for the pastel alleles, Graziani and Bell, a Super pastel could inherit graziani from one parent, and bell from the other, but a regular pastel can only inherit one and not the other, otherwise it would be a Super Pastel.
But if you aren't talking about the actual pastel gene, then yes this is a realistic scenario because grandfather to the hatchlings could be a Graziani X Bell Super Pastel, and while the Father would only have one pastel allele or the other, he would indeed contain other genetics besides the pastel allele that contribute to the phenotype "Graziani" or "Bell". Very cool indeed!
Would be cool if you could fill us in on the ancestry a bit if you get a chance, but otherwise great looking pastels, and looks like you may have a blackback gene in there as well, is that from mom?

all I was told was that the parents of my breeder male were graziani and bell, ill enclose a pic and you decide which one of the traits he best suits, hahahaha
but make sure you tell me your opinion. I belive him to take after the graziani gene, but im also italian so i tend to lean torwards the italian side hahaha

That should be both lines

Ah now I think I know what you were trying to say, that the parents were both regular pastels(het.) one being graziani and the other bell. In that case, yep you would only being expressing either bell or graziani pastel allele, but the related genetics(that make the bell look like a bell, and the graziani look like a graziani) are combined for the two lines creating a new phenotype of "Graziani X Bell Pastel". Very cool indeed!

so I will post pics in a new thread, a few of them show black back characteristics but id definitly like other opinions
That's a good point.Whichever pastel gene it caught, the other genes responsible for either lines appearance were mixed as well.
Nice animal.
