it breaks my heart to look at him. he is nothing like he used to be. i don't think he can see well. he is afraid of everything and the vet techs said he was mean to them and he was never mean before. please tell me i am doing the right thing, please tell me i am doing a good job. the vet hasn't said anything about giving up but i just don't understand. i don't know if i am helping him or torturing him. he did eat a wax worm on his own for me today. i don't know what to do anymore.

on a happier note, i got hired at a university to teach two politics classes

Well Jeune I really have to admire those extra miles you have gone for all your lizards.

Are you doing the right thing for Walter?? - I'd say yes, because you have found out and cured him of what was ailing him. He is more than likely stressed out over the time spent away from his familiar surroundings. Housing in a vet's office isn't quiet and comfortable it is frought with the sounds of scared and lonely animals. Yes it is very distressing to see a family member go through what Walter has and see how it is stressing him. So give him some time now that he's back in familiar surroundings without the insane sounds of the vet's office.

So in my opinion you've done right by Walter.

Congratz on the jobs as well.

You have done exactly what I would have done in your shoes.

I know I joined this forum recently, so have just started hearing of your collared troubles. But I know you from the uro forum and you're one of the few people I would trust to adopt my reptiles if I could no longer care for them myself. You go above and beyond, and care for your critters like few do. Walter will start feeling better soon now that he's home again!

((( big hugs! )))

I believe when you take on the resonsibility of caring for an animal,/ pet, yes LIZARDS.... :0) you need to do what ya can to get them back to health. (within reason) I would not have heart surgery preformed on one, or a liver transplant, :0)

Maybe if I was a ZILLIONAIRE, hehehheee LOL

Relax, glad he's back, Ole Walters been through alot, probably very stressed, take it slow, let him adjust without needles stuck in him and handling that was rough(some vets I think are fearful of being biten.)

* I'm VERY proud of you as far as you landing that job, thats wonderful, Congratulations, Job well done.
