No, you can't just leave them . . . darnit! That's precisely why I ended up with so many collareds when I used to keep them years ago. The stupid pet shop (which regularly caused the demise of probably dozens of reptiles a month) kept ordering them. I couldn't just leave them there to wither away, ya know?! You do know, don't you.

Phew--okay, I'm finished.

I'm glad you got these two. The rescue of so many sick lizards is how I learned so much about keeping the mortally ill ones alive. I guess that is a bright side. Yours don't look bad, though. I'm glad for that.

The wild-caught trade would dry up! Or so it would seem to reason. But I am not one to talk as I purchased 2 wc at an expo this summer. But just some food for thought (or at least said a little less sanctimoniously than could have been spewed by another).

Yeah, I hear ya, and I struggle with that issue to be sure. That said however, I usually try to purchase only healthy CB animals. On the rare occasions that I do pay for a wild caught lizard, it is only after the pet store (or dealer, etc.) has agreed to GIVE me the sick animals if I buy the healthy(ier) ones. They don't make a profit on me, so I can live with that.

If she ate at the pet store like she eats here, it's a wonder any of the other lizards in her cage would have gotten a chance to eat anything, I'm not sure if she is a stress eater or what but I don't think she missed out on any meals, I think she would eat as many crickets as I was willing to give her, tonight I dropped in 10 medium crickets, they were gone it about 30 sec. I added 3 more about 5 min. later and she ate them, added a few super worms and she left them alone so maybe the male will get a chance to eat something, I know it's only been a few days but I'm not sure he is taking to the captive life very well

She is going to become gravid, some have late slutches. And when they eat ravinishly it could be the reason, or she's just a PIG, LOL
