e-hog hatch flash

naturexchange Aug 16, 2006 09:56 AM

Insomnia will get one strange videos. There's sound to it, un-synched due to the transfer from Win Media to FLASH animation but I tried.

8 hours of hatching shot time-lapse at 30 frames per second through plastic, with a 20 dollar web cam taped to the top with duct tape (of course), and then edited down, and re-formatted to play back 50% slower. Don't blame me, blame the snakes that sit inside their eggs for up to 2 days after pipping and their ridiculously slow emergence even after that.

Enjoy

That is a fun video clip!

Don't be in a hurry for your herps to hatch quickly. That's not natural for them. In the wild they pip to breath air, but sit tight to absorb yolk.
