feeding new ball

pherakon Aug 16, 2006 11:47 AM

I will be picking up my new ball python at the airport on Fri or Monday. I know to leave him alone for two weeks to adjust but, I want to be ready to feed when the time comes. My breeder is feeding P/K pinky rats at the moment. I will not be able to get any of these unluss I breed my own. Can I feed fuzzy mice, and do you think I can try to feed F/T for the first feeding?

You can try F/T. If he is already taking P/K he might go for it just warm it up first. Also, he can eat much larger than a mouse fuzzy. I would got with small adult mice if you cant get rat pinks of fuzzies. IMO you don't have to wait 2 weeks to try to feed him. I attempt to feed all of my new arrivals the day I receive them. Most will eat on the first attempt for me. I do feed live though.

I may just order some rat pinks on-line. I have other snakes so, they won't be wasted. Thanks for the reply.
