theandrew Aug 16, 2006 07:12 PM

How long for a brazilian to have it's first shed. Mine was born in july and is looking really opauque I think she might shed soon. Any thoughts?

P.S. Im posting this because the breeder never told me if it shed or not while he had it. It was born in early july.

First shed is typically 10 to 14 days although I had one with a large yolk that took over a month. Depending on individual and feeding, sounds right about due for second shed.

BTW, it is standard for babies to have shed and eaten (IMO at least two meals) prior to sale.
