What do you guys recommend?

vweater2001 Aug 17, 2006 11:03 AM

My question is what size cage do you guys recommend for a Redtail boa to grow up in? I currently have her in a 30gal glass tank and I want to increase her space. I want to know what the next size I should get in cage where I will not need to change again. I want to buy one from a recommended source that will be big enough where my snake will never need a cage again. Let me know and thanks for your help.

I would suggest a cage that is roughly 4'x2' that should be good for a snake up to 8'. Unless yours turns out to be a monster this size should be fine. If you want to go a little more, 6'x2' is also good.

I know you said a cage that is 4'x 2' so roughly in inches that's 48"x 24" right? Reason I ask is that they sell cages on here that I'm interested in inches and I want to make sure I buy the right one. Let me know and thanks.

Yes that is exactly what it is in inches ...
2 feet (24 inches) x 4 feet (48 inches). Additionally if you have the space a 2 foot (24 inches) x 6 foot (72 inches) would be even better for a larger female.

Not at this point. How large is the boa? It might just be too small for a 4 X 2 cage now also. It's possible you will need a medium sized tub for the i9nterim while your boa grows. If you do stick a tiny boa in a huge cage at least give it a lot of hides and "furniture" to hide in. Don't get an oversized cage either untill you know your boa has ourgrown a regular sized cage too, most don't out grow a regulat cage.

Good luck,
Caden
