my baby boas! Mike--I need one of those albino Sharp guys!!
Let me tell you a funny story. The other day I looked at my little abby female and she still looked a little chubby since feeding her a few days before. I thought hmmmmm I wonder why, I better not feed her again for a bit. Then the next morning I noticed an entire piece of paper towel-actually doubled over paper towel, her cage substrate, in a neat squeezed tube and she looked back to her normal self-she had swallowed the ENTIRE piece of paper towel!!! This is the second time I have seen this-once before with a Sharp albino female who is now 5', so I knew she would be o.k., but that is crazy!!! Tracy

BASICALLYBOAS Aug 18, 2006 01:21 AM

.......I have heard of that happening before, just has not ever happened to me. I use the corrugated cardboard for everything and love it. I am glad she is doing great for you, post some pics of her if you get a chance.
As far as the Guyanan Sharps, man am I happy how they turned out! It just goes to show if you take the time to out-cross and do a little selective breeding it really pays off. I have one more litter of Guyanan Sharp Albinos due this week and she looks loaded! I will post some pics of the litter when she drops.

Take care,

A few days ago I was feeding and had a female redgroup hypo adult eat her food and proceed to start on a peice of wadded newspaper (she always messes up her paper) Thankfully I caught her in the act and pulled it out of her mouth. She looked at me kinda funny.. she had it about halfway into her mouth smelled like food must be food right...LOL...

chris nicholas Aug 17, 2006 09:46 PM

trade some of my snake and snake racks for plane tickets but the airlines told me no. So I will have to stay home, I am sure someday I will find an airline that needs new snake cages. Lol

If your offer was just like the offer I had made them, that they did not take advantage of from me either by the way, they will never know what exactly what they missed out on. Had they accepted the trade I proposed, they like the other people who are using our cages, may very well have reaped the benefits and their successes may have been tremendous. The whole package. Our cages. Our heating systems, Our Boa Breeding methods. It would have been a win win situation for both them and me. But for some reason, Northwest did not take me up on my offering. But that's OK. I still like Northwest and hope that maybe we will work out something next year. Northwest will still be needing some of what I produce next year too and Northwest may have something I may need too although not as much as I wanted it this year. There is always next year too though. Next year... oh next year... I can't wait to see what sort of stuff I will have born in black plastic this coming season. LOL

A couple pictures of what happened in our cages this year:

Coincidence?

boaphile Aug 18, 2006 09:04 AM

More Boas born this morning in those black cages. I just took this photo about ten minutes ago.

chris nicholas Aug 18, 2006 02:40 PM

and I firmly believe, and I am no expert, that boas would breed in garbage cans if you let them, its in their nature to reproduce. But I give you props for going out on a limb and start your own line of cages! As for boas I can't wait to see if there is anything new and exciting just as you mentioned, each year brings us something new and unexpected, thats the fun part.
I personally like to step up to the plate and go for broke!

Chris

boaphile Aug 19, 2006 04:44 PM

I had no idea.

PBM Aug 17, 2006 09:54 PM

We're not going this year either. With the show in Tinley being only a couple hours away, there's really no reason to go all the way to Daytona anymore. Take care

........love the Chicago show and have made that our main vacation show every year now. I got burnt out on Daytona a few years back and have not been back since. Plus with my buddy Chris 'The Motley Man' Nicholas bringing his displays for me, it has made traveling very easy.
C-Ya in Chicago!
