Ahhh, now that got your attention.

I posted this yesterday but no one answered so I will try again

I am moving to Colombia with work (the country) and want to take a half dozen snakes with me. Anyone know the best way to do that? Anyone shipped abroad? can I take em on the plane with me? or have them shipped? dunno, just throwing that out there any ideas? have them in my checked baggage? I really want to take them but don't know rules or regulations.

Thanks
Phil

no you cannot smuggle them in your baggage. the only legal way to do it is apply for C.I.T.E.S permits and basically import them to columbia and even then you may hit roadblocks,i would contact an importer in columbia and see what they have to say,,good luck,,,,,,,,,,

If you going to Columbia short term, sell them or find someome to take care of them while you are gone.

If you are going long term, sell the snakes, and when you get to Columbia, purchase more. It will be far less expensive than importing a small quantity of reptiles, and it will be better for the reptiles as well.
