Large Upright Freezer/Incubator?????

Luke Snyder Aug 19, 2006 12:42 PM

I have an upright freezer that I am planning on turning into an incubator, just wonder if there is anything I need to do to the freezer before I start working on it. It has not worked for some time, and I think I remember reading about draing the freon out of it or something like that. Any information anyone can provide would be great.

Thanks
Luke

I wouldn't mess with the freon stuff. As long as all the radiator pipes and stuff are in tact, theys hould cause a problem. As it is, the freezer is an insulated box and whatever vents, heaters ect you plan on adding, attach away from the freezers working parts if possible.

The advantage of draining the freon is that you can remove all the freezer components and it will be a lot lighter. you could probably get a fidge/freezer repair place to do it for cheap.
