Not Eating So Well

dvandriesen Aug 19, 2006 08:29 PM

Hello everyone my beardie is prolly 4weeks old i would assume. He has been eating very well from my hand for a few weeks now. I just bought some new stuff for his enclosure and its making it harder to tell how many cricekts he eats so i do it by hand. Today however i dont know if its from stress from all his new toys or what but he will not eat for me from the hand. Im trying to get him to eat out of a seperate container for feeding only but he just trys to get out and wont eat the crickets. Any ideas as to how to get him eating well again and out of a seperate container thanks i could use some help on this one DREW

Try to make his eating tub or area as close to his enclosure as you can (or place a smaller tub inside his enclosure) and just keep trying. They will eat when they get hungry enough and settle down, unless they are sick and have parasite problems.

Sometimes when new in a home, you need to let them settle in and be comdortable with you and the changes, before you can get them to eat in a separate container or location.

You can also try putting his crickets in a bowl that they can not get out of, but he can eat from or get in to eat from
