Need some ideas.

Albert has a swollen foot. I don't know what it's from. It's his rear left foot and it's worrying me. I have a vet appt for Sat 8/9 (the EARLIEST I could get). Of course the vet won't give you ANYTHING over the phone w/out looking at it first. The other foot is skinny and flat, but the other is round and swollen. His toes look fine and so does the leg. I had small ants in the top enclosure, but it didn't look like they were in his and they didn't bite me...so I don't know if they are responsible or not. AND...there isn't any wound or openings in his skin, that I can see.

ANY ideas?? Anything I can do to bring down the swelling til the vet?? Besides elevating, he doesn't like that. I am sooo worried about him. I did everything I could to get in earlier w/the vet, but they wouldn't budge. They will call if they get any cancellations.

Thanks, you guys are the best!

Carrie

Hi, Carrie, thats a shame about Alberts foot. I would put neosporin on it for just one day, incase the nat did bite. And if it is not that, Iwould TRY and soak it in warm water, for the swelling, although it is quite impossible to hold them in water .
Maybe you could just hold a warm soaked cotton ball on his foot for a few minutes, can't hurt either way til ya see the vet ! Hope he feels better sonn, :0( Eve

I know...I feel so bad for the little guy. He's come such a long way to go through anymore pain. He actually likes warm baths, they put him to sleep. I will try both and put him on paper towels til the vet.

Thanks again. I was at a loss of what to do.
