Adjustment period...?

the Rigger Aug 04, 2003 10:52 AM

I received my new yellow phase albino from Azteclizard.com last Thursday. He seems to be doing fine, he will eat occasionally when prey is dropped in front of his hide. But how long may it take before he really eats? I have a bowl of mealies in his tank, but he has only gotten ones that I have dropped in front of his hide. I'm not too concerned, because he does eat and he has really good weight. Just wondering if he will find his bowls eventually.

TIA

Well, it really depends on every gecko. They are all different. Some of them will eat right out of the shipping box, some may take 1 week or 1 week and a half to start eating. According to what you just mentioned, if it already ate, but in small quantities, that is fine. It will eat more as it adjusts to its new house.
