JETZEN Aug 20, 2006 05:42 PM

Thanks, iv'e been very lucky finding the good people to deal with.

Beautiful!

I'm struck by how much that guy resembles my splendida!
I know, we've hashed through Psycho/Fatty before, and consesus is that she is splendida.

Does the MBK get darker as it grows? Do any retain pattern into adulthood?

Here's an old shot of Fatty to compare bellies...

It is my belief that SDK are merely patterned MBK and MBK are merely black SDK, i could show a pic of a clutch group of both patterned and black hatchlings parented by typical jet-black MBK but i don't have permission to do so, so i won't.

It is also my belief that SDK,MBK and CALI will someday be consolidated into one ssp group called western kingsnakes.

Yours looks to have pink specks on it's ventrals very nice.

thanks.....

>>Yours looks to have pink specks on it's ventrals very nice.

I'm not sure about pink spots on Phatty? I think its the lighting in that shot - they are actually more yellow. I will try to get some more postable pics soon.

Now that she's eating, I'm hoping she grows up to be a whopper. Who knows? She may darken up like an MBK!

Thanks for the info about SDKs and MDKs, I learn new things constantly here!

Best Regards,

John D

If i saw your collection i'd prolly pass out! So of your collection what do you like the best, i could'nt imagine myself having so many soooooo-awesome reptiles.

viborero Aug 21, 2006 09:31 AM

Good question... It would either have to be the GBK's, the Macklot's, or the MBK. Changes everyday. I could definitely get rid of all the cricket eaters and not blink an eye, but the girl loves 'em...

How about your womas or cribos? are they easy or are they problem children? cribos interest me but i'd be tempted to build a huge enclosure for them.

viborero Aug 21, 2006 11:44 AM

The Woma is a sweetheart. I would keep a hundred of them if they didn't cost so much! The Cribos are rescues I got from a buddy of mine. I keep them in 6x1.5x3 melamines. The Yellowtail won't eat on his own, so we have to force feed him twice a week. Doesn't look like a very bright future for him. The Blacktail is a royal BIATCH! She strikes at the glass if you even come close to her cage. She is actually a lot of fun, though, once you manage to pull all 7 feet of her out of the cage. I won't be hand feeding her anytime soon!
