3rd I caught in Okaloosa Co florida this season. all released after photos.
not a scar on it.
just gorgeous for WC.
still, nothing compares to a high white NJ Northern.

Beautiful snake Norm! The snake is not perfect though, it is missing its tail tip. All the same, I would not compare that snake to a Jersey northern or to anything else. To me, its stands very well on its own. Northern pines are what they are as are Florida pines. In my mind they are both awesome representatives of the genus Pituophis. Thanks for posting the pic.

hey Phil, I know you love the Pines!
I hadn't noticed the tail tip (LOL)..
guess I was too busy keeping an eye on the other end.
actually, I have never had one pine even try to strike me...
Its the coachwhips I worry about. they seem to aim for the face.
Phil, I feel bad though.
I had to relocate 3 copperheads off my 40 acres.
my doberman got tagged twice on the face.
Its odd, but I have more venemous snakes (copperheads and mocs) on my 40 acres than non-venemous!
at dusk we once found 3 coppers out for a stroll all within 100 feet of my homesite.
thats too much for my wife and dobie.
definitely gotta look twice before you grab for anything on the ground in my polebarn.
