Large arboreal snake hatching:

Oxyrhopus Aug 20, 2006 08:06 PM

I posted these pics on the venomous but thought some here would like to see this cutie hatching. It's an Oxbellis which is a large green vine snake from Tropical America. They grow to 7 feet and eat mice, and even eat pinks as babies. 5 hatched and 5 to go and sorry but all are spoken for by friends the minute I mentioned the momma layed. lol. They are rearfanged and most all wild-caughts do try to deliver a nasty bite, but hopefully these raised in captivity will develop more calmly. But that open mouthed baby makes me think that is not even going to happen with captive hatched babies.

That's adorable. I'm not sure if I'd want to be the one to tame the whole bunch, but very cute.

Congratulations,
