Congrat on getting food into the guy. We seem to alwasy have a handful of babies that need some help. Unfortuneately i'd have to say most do not ever turn around. But many do. My boss uses a old type pen cap. The clip portion. I like something softer. Last year I found a small hard rubber tube. Much smaller in diameter than aquarium tubing. I was first going to use it on a pump. Then found by placing it across the baby snakes mouth, and rolling tthe top inwward, as if you were rolling it onto the lower jaw, it would go in easy. Slip in a pinky part, slide the tube out sideways and pray he took it on his own. Those snakes always seem to do a lot better than if you have to force it in futher. If teh snake is nippy I like to tease feed first.
A while back we had a small thread on feeding tips for troublesome snakes. Someone had a rather long impressive list.
I thought I did a lot of options. If someone recalls the list maybe they will post it.
I think my list was
F/t
live pinky
live pinky in a deli cup ove night
same, brain the pinky
same, smash up the pinky, a friend does this with hognose. ICK
tease feed
tease feed a part
try to get a part in the mouth, and hook a tooth, for them to take down.
pray
total force
Something like that.
braining, teasing seem to be the two big ones to get stuff to feed on their own.
Only one of my amel eggs hatched so far. She is tiny, so I have one of those warming up.
