On vacation in east Tenn. I found this cute, little guy. He was found around the Knoxville area. Just curios what specie or subspecie it is.
Thanks

It appears to be a juvenile Eastern Boxie.

100% Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina carolina)
Undeniably a very well fed juvenile T.carolina carolina, Eastern Box.
It has some charring or staining on the frontal part of it's carapace; specifically the marginal scutes #'s 1, 2, and 3 along with the vetebral scutes #'s1, v2, extending to the pleural scutes #'s1, and p2.
The skin is in good shape.
Was he still left in the wild?
Petri
I found him while climbing up a hill in the woods. I took some photos then let him be.

Good for you!
My hat's off to you! Glad you didn't give in as so many others and assume it would make a good collectable.

It looks like a very healthy juvenile eastern box turtle to me...I don't see any flaws on it at all.
