You Might be a Herper if

atherisquamigera Aug 21, 2006 09:32 PM

this is intended for entertainment(even though for me it's just a little too true) please feel free to add a few of your own funny experiences and daily tiny sacrifices to my list. =)
-you evaluate your paycheck in terms of how many snakes and rats/mice/rabbits you can buy with it
-you carry pictures of your favorite snakes in your wallet
-you have ever been caught refering to your snakes as your "babies"
-you often carry on entire conversations with your scaly friends
-your dream job is reptile breeder
-your friends are scared to look in your freezer
-you sometimes wish you literally could sell your soul for the latest morph
-you are totally up to date on the latest morphs, but you have no idea what's happening in the middle east
-you spend the majority of your free time on kingsnake.com or perusing the sites of the top breeders to see what's new
-your shoes can talk and you need to fix your car, but you have been putting it off for months just so you can afford another snake.
-you would rather meet Bob Clark than Jackie Chan
-you often get into heated discussions about the ethics of venamoids
-you can never bring yourself to throw away an issue of Reptiles magazine

if you make sure your gas and electric are paid but not your cable or insurance.

if when planning your honeymoon you use a field guide

if your renivating your house the first room you finish is the snake room(just finished mine and nothing else ha ha)

if you have the petshop on speed dial #1
and they have you on speed dial #2

ill try and think of more

You're the only one on the block with sheddings hanging out of you trash can.

You're wall at work is covered with more sheddings:

You invite friends over to check out your balls!

You've been breeding rats and mice for 15 years, but have no idea what their average lifespan is...

LOL...err, that's life SPAN, not life EXPECTANCY... :*)

Jamie

LarryF Aug 24, 2006 08:01 PM

I respectfully disagree. If he plans for them to live that long, that IS their life expectancy?

herp_whisperer Aug 24, 2006 11:06 PM

Err...average life span vs. life expectancy (i.e. how long he EXPECTS them to live)...or something...stop confusing me with facts!

Reality is for people who have lousy imaginations.

hehehe... B*]

You wish you had ivory balls.

1. Sterilite tub sales at Wal-Mart are exciting events in your life.

2. When you boss "gives you the hook" you think it's an invitation to go field herping.

3. The freezer is off limits to your in-laws while they are visiting.

4. When someone tells you, "You've got balls", you reply "Yeah, three, and they're pastel yellow."

5. You fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and tree frogs, and you live in a high rise apartment building.

6. You seriously consider applying for that preapproved credit card to finance your herp addiction--for the fourth time.

7. You've seriously researched finding a 12 step program for this addiction.

8. You are delighted that you've yet to find one.

9. Your husband slides up next to you in bed with romance on his mind, and you murmur, "Honey, I think something's escaped from it's enclosure."

Hee-hee!

Hope no one's put this one;
-Your sole motivation for buying a bigger house is that so you'll have room for more herps.
