how about a few Monday pics on Tues?

TimOsborne Aug 22, 2006 04:17 PM

So.. I shot these last night while cleaning some tanks.. just did not get a chance to post them until now. These are each year old females..

The depth of field is messed up on the second pic, so excuse my hack photography skills..

You can post on Tuesday any week.

Or any other day for that matter

For the second pic, what if you cropped to mainly the head shot? Would eliminate most of the out of focus part and IMO would be a better pic.

Thanks Dave!

I just wish my photos would do the ladies justice..

I think I am just going to try to recreate the shot with better lighting (maybe outside tomorrow morning) and open up the aperature a bit. Even if I crop for just a head shot, the end of the nose is still a bit out of focus.

My big BRB's are tough to shoot by myself, they are just to active.. but the two little girls will sit and pose gladly on the end of a hook for as many shots as I want to take.. I will share what I come up with in a few days.

Tim,
...Those are above average BRBs. I actually like the out of focus PIC. The out of focus effect in the background coming into focus for the head is an interesting effect. If the entire head including nose had been in focus it would have been perfect.

Thanks Jeff!
I agree with what you said about the head.. hopefully I can make it happen. I am going to set some PC lights up tomorrow so I can get a bit wider depth of field (just enough to get the head entirely sharp) and try to get them.. they have already started turning white for the night..

on another note.. there are some non BRB pics I have taken in the past few weeks here if anyone is interested in looking.. Some chondros, emeralds, a few corns, tiger rat, boa and mean ass white lip that tried to eat my camera..

enjoy!
