Coloring Question

Pixilated Aug 22, 2006 05:41 PM

I have 2 females that had been laying eggs. One is a Tremper Albino, figured out from researching on net, the other I am unsure of. I've seen her coloring named at least 3 different names depending on which site I go to. I don't have any pics but will try to describe her so you can kinda get an idea. Her body is a greenish color with a darker stripe running down the center of her back and her head and tail are a kinda pinkish color.
Anyway I had been breeding them with a male that I had orginally thought to be a normal phase but now, even though he appears to be full grown, easily as large as my adult females, he is beginning to get more color. With every shed he has more orange showing along the base of his tail and on his body.
I just figured since he was a normal that all of the babies would also be normal. But here's my question, since he is beginning to change is there a possibilty that any of my babies will have a different color morph?
I know it doesn't help much that I don't have any pics but best quesses would be great from anyone who has has any experience.

Thanks,
Mandi

Forgot to mention, the one I'm unsure of her coloring, Pinky, her colors are solid, no spotting anywhere on her body, tail or head.

I can't make any accurate guesses, but some normals are capable of producing albinos and other morphs assuming that their genetics are right and match with the gecko you are mating them to. If your normal has a recessive gene for albinism and you bred it to an albino, there is a chance you will get albino babies along with some normals.

Sounds like you have a patternless or a blizard to me. But pics are really needed to be sure.

I realize that it's hard to tell just by a description. Not looking for definite answers just wondering about the possibilities.
I was worried that none of my eggs would make it because I have had a hard time keeping consistant temps but they have so far been developing ok. I was candling them the other day to make sure they hadn't stopped and was suprised when i rubbed the top of one to remove a little bit of the substrate to see better and the baby inside actually moved away from where I was rubbing.
That has me very hopeful that maybe a few will make it.
Hope to post pics soon.
Thanks everyone

Mandi
