Updated Pictures of my Boy

He's grown a wee bit since I got him on the 6th. Great Feeder though. I am trying to get him interested in rats but so far no luck as I only have small rats and he gets 2 adult mice (they are small adult mice cuz pet store feeders are whimpy small to me).

How old is he?

He's a June 06 guy, just a little baby. He's so nice though. Always looking to be handled which is a far cry from what we had the first few days. He's already an f/t eater which he was when I bought him on 8/6/06 but I need to get him to like rats now instead of mice. We'll be on a roll then. Thanks for looking

my burm was on mice when i first got him, he would take 2 live mice, then one day i threw a pre-killed rat in there and he took it, no scenttransfer or anything,(just fed him like 10 mins also, he's a lil piggy.

I found the easiest way to aid in the switch to another food source (that is if it is being finicky, most switch regularly)is to chase the mouse, in this case, with a small rat. By this I mean feed the snake a mouse like you normally do. I would use a slightly smaller one then normal. Then just as the sanke is finishing swallowing the mouse and it just has the tail remaining on teh next time is gapes it mouth wide place the head of a small rat into the snakes mouth. IF you are carefull of the teeth you can usually get teh head pretty far in the mouth and the majority of the time the snake will just continue on swallowing the rat. I have had great success with this method and usually only have to repeat this process two or three times before the snake will willingly take rats on there own. This also works when you are transitioning from rats to rabbits. Hope this helps and good luck, Todd
