Hi-
I use an auto mister on my cages but they are all aluminum screen cages. What kind (brand) are you getting? I would get an actual auto misting kit and not a habba mist or fogger they will not provide the water drops you need and they break fast. I have a system both indoors and outdoors. The indoor one is a Rainmaker Jr. with a 5 gal reservoir and I added a float switch and solenoid valve, that is hooked up to my RO/DI filter so I never have to refill the reservoir it refills itself automatically. The timer is set to go off 4 times per day for 1-2 min. The amount of mist time will depend on what humidity you want. In the summer I mist allot more because I have fans going and the heat dries things out fast. To secure the misting port I used 2 3/8" larger washers in between the screen to keep the misting nozzle straight up.
On my out door cages I use an auto control valve hooked up to the faucet that turns the water on 4 times per day for 30 min each time. From the control valve I ran 1/4" tubing and used full circle .5GPH fogger nozzles. All of these products can be found at Homedopot, I think all of it cost about $60 for 8 cages. Hope this helps!

I was curious as to what the spread of the mist is. Id like to get the same system you have, but I dont want to get it all over the place.
Any other advice you have on set up would be great!
thank you so much!
if you are using a softray with your reptarium, you will end up with a lake no matter what. reptariums aren't the greatest thing for chams. i use to have 4 reptariums with an automister, and with removing the excess water everyday, i ran the mister for 1 minute every 3 hours.
I use a Habba Mist. For me it is perfect for one cage. The only draw back is it is a bit loud. But, that being said I have it on a timer so it only sprays when I am not home. One really nice feature is that when have my cham outside I can put batteries in the Habba Mist and use it outside as well. Plus it cost me about half (or less) of what the other misters I looked at would have. I got mine at the IRBA show from The Outback Reptile Co.
